4K UHD Cloud Dashcam and Video Capture

8 megapixel CMOS sensor recording in 4K Ultra High Definition (3840x2160) at 30FPS. The front camera’s ultra-wide 162-degree angle takes full advantage of the 4K UHD resolution. The rear camera records in Full HD at a 139-degree angle with outstanding low-light sensitivity. You can rest assured that your dashcam will capture critical details whether you are driving or letting your BlackVue monitor your parked vehicle. 4K is a much bigger jump in fidelity over Full HD than Full HD over HD. HD to Full HD represents a doubling in pixels. 4K UHD is four times as many pixels as Full HD. This is a huge difference, and it shows. License plates can be made out more clearly and from further away. Besides, you don’t need a 4K monitor to appreciate 4K videos. Even on a Full HD monitor, you can zoom in much further without any visible pixelation.

Along with the regular H.264 codec, the DR900S Series features H.265, also called High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC), the leading standard in 4K recording and broadcasting. Built-in GPS and Dual-band WiFi

GPS adds extra protection with location and speed data embedded in your videos
Speed: speed data will be overlaid in the video (can be turned off in the settings). You can set speed display in Kilometers per hour (Km/h) or Miles per hour (Mph).
Location: visualize your vehicle's location in the BlackVue App or Viewer's Map.
WiFi lets you connect to your BlackVue with a smartphone or tablet. WiFi also lets your BlackVue connect to BlackVue Over the Cloud via any home or mobile WiFi hotspot (router). The dual-band 2.4/5GHz WiFi module equipping the DR900S Series can achieve much faster connection speed, which allows you to transfer videos to your phone in record time.

Optimized File Management

Event Files Overwrite Protection
Dashcams record in a loop, overwriting older files when the memory is full. BlackVue DR900S-1CH can prevent Event files (triggered manually or by impacts) overwriting. Up to fifty (50) files can be protected this way. You can choose to allow new Event files to overwrite past Event files, thus keeping the latest fifty.
Adaptive Format-Free File Management
This BlackVue-developed file system improves recording stability and requires less microSD card formatting.
Scheduled Reboots
Schedule a daily automatic reboot (optional—by default at night) to minimize potential errors. Reboots happen only if the dashcam is in Parking Mode and not writing data to the microSD card. This means no Normal driving, Event, or Parking Mode recording can be interrupted by a scheduled reboot.

Built-in Impact & Motion Detection

Mark important files and enable Parking Mode
While driving, your BlackVue detects impacts and sudden changes in speed. While parked, it also detects movements*. Videos files are marked accordingly so that you can easily find the relevant ones in the BlackVue Viewer for Windows and Mac OS or the BlackVue App for Android and iOS.
(*) For Parking Mode recording, an external battery pack (B-124 Battery Pack) or a hardwiring kit (Power Magic Pro) is required.

Intelligent Parking Mode Monitoring

When paired with Power Magic Pro, Power Magic EZ or B-124 Battery Pack, enjoy peace of mind knowing that your car is under protection while you are away. BlackVue automatically switches to Parking Mode to monitor you parked vehicle, but only writes to the memory card when something happens (motion or impact detected). Thanks to the video buffer, the few seconds leading to the triggering event are also recorded. Parking Mode Event Voice Notifications: upon exiting Parking Mode, your BlackVue tells you if Events were recorded when you were away from your car, so you can check right away the Event videos on the BlackVue App.
Super stealthy: BlackVue DR900S Series allows you to completely turn off all LED indicators in Parking Mode. Only the recording LED indicator facing the interior of the vehicle will blink when motion or impact is detected.

A Note on Memory Cards

BlackVue dashcams include a 32, 64, 128 or 256GB memory card. While the memory cards are removable and the card slots will accept other brands of memory cards, we strongly suggest the use of only BlackVue memory cards in the BlackVue dashcams, as the use of a non BlackVue memory card may cause performance issues and may void your manufacturer’s warranty.

BlackVue OEM memory cards are industrial-grade and are designed and tested to withstand the extreme temperatures and the constant read/write cycles of high quality dashcams. Consumer-grade memory cards such as those from SanDisk or Samsung are simply not up to the task. Stick with the OEM BlackVue memory cards to ensure your dashcams are always recording when it matters most.
