In this dashcam installation photo gallery, we go over the final product of hardwiring the new dual-lens, 4K front and 1080p rear BlackVue DR900S-2CH dashcam in a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500.
This installation was performed by The Dashcam Store™ technicians. Please click here to book your own dashcam installation at The Dashcam Store™ in Austin, Texas.
The vehicle now protected with the "Dashcam Defense": 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500. We're fans of the quality and reliability that the BlackVue brand brings to its dashcams, and we were stoked to publish our first installation of the brand new BlackVue DR900S-2CH 4K dashcam with Power Magic Pro into this gorgeous Silverado.
Big thank you again to Ryan C. for allowing us to work on your truck!
Looking in from the outside, the BlackVue DR900S forward-facing camera looks like it is a factory-installed accessory.
Now from the inside, BlackVue's front camera blends in nicely with the existing black plastic windshield sensors. Of course, this installation does not interfere with any of the built-in sensing and/or vehicle safety systems.
From a bit further out, it's hard to notice there is a high-quality dashcam in this Chevy, but you'll know it's there!
From the rear of the truck, the rear-facing DR900S-2CH camera is completely invisible. Do you see it?
Another shot from behind, getting closer but the camera is still nearly impossible to see.
We've added an arrow to show you where the rear-facing camera sits in the rear window glass. Pretty stealthy, right?
Moving in to the driver's seat, this is what you see of your BlackVue DR900S-2CH dashcam system. Not much is visible!
We've added an arrow to show you where the front-facing camera sits in the front window. Don't use a bulky dashcam that may impair your visibility and increase your risk of getting in an accident!
Now a shot of the rear-facing camera lens from the inside. Still very hard to see! This rear camera is about the size of a standard tube of Chapstick.
In case you missed it, here's an arrow to indicate the rear camera placement. The rear sliding window is still fully functional (it opens to the left).
Another shot looking backwards at the rear-facing camera, which doesn't take up much room at all on the rear glass.
Our technicians have mounted the Power Magic Pro (to enable parking mode recording) in the glove box.
A wider shot to show the Power Magic Pro in better context with the glove box on the passenger side.
This was a fun truck to work on! We love the "throwback" Chevy bowtie on this Centennial Edition Silverado. Congrats to 100 years of Chevy Trucks, GM!
